Formed in 2004, WhiteWater Ramble's high-octane DanceGrass/Jamgrass is deeply rooted in bluegrass, funk, jazz, swing, rock, reggae, country and blues while exploring the musical boundaries and fusion of these genres. The quintet's makeup of mandolin, acoustic guitar, fiddle, upright bass, vocals and drums fuel it's tightly improvised material. As much as the band creates its own style, the style creates itself. The music is dependent on the moment, honest, and respectful to the road behind. WWR has had the privilege of opening and sharing stages with Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Dark Star Orchestra, The Gourds, Tony Furtado, Lotus, Splitlip Rayfiled, Members of the String Cheese Incident, The David Grisman Quintet, Railroad Earth, Cornmeal, Larry Keel and Natural Bridge, Benny Galloway and the Broke Mountain Trio, The Open Road Bluegrass Band and Bonerama. “Along with the diverse genres, the band also brings an intense energy to the stage.” ~ The Summit Daily News Based in Fort Collins, CO, WWR has performed and headlined on every major stage in the Rocky Mountain Region including the Belly Up (Aspen, CO), Fox Theatre (Boulder), Aggie Theatre (Fort Collins), Mishawaka Amphitheatre (Bellevue, CO), Hodi’s Half Note (Fort Collins, CO), 8150 (Vail, CO), The Mangy Moose (Teton Village, WY), Cervantes Ballroom (Denver), The Bottleneck (Lawrence, KS), The Blue Note (Columbia, MO), Peoples On Court (Des Moines, IA), The Yacht Club (Iowa City, IA), 43 North (Jackson, WY), The Mobious (Ashland, OR), High Sides (Livingston, MT), The Loft (Missoula, MT), The Top Hat (Missoula, MT), The Filling Station (Bozeman, MT), John’s Alley (Moscow, ID), Flanagan’s Station (Whitefish, MT) Fly Me to the Moon Saloon (Telluride, CO), Terrapin Station (Boise, ID), The Knotty Pine (Victor, ID) and too many more to list. With over 70 shows under their belt in 2005, 130 in 2006, 135 in 2007, WhiteWater Ramble is on pace for 150+ performances in 2008 across the Rocky Mountain Region, Midwest, Northwest and beyond. “WhiteWater Ramble’s strongest point is versatility in style. While often billed with bluegrass bands, the band is not bluegrass in a strict sense. Bluegrass is merely one tool in Whitewater’s shed to get the booty shaking.” ~ The Rocky Mountain Bullhorn Their debut album, Red Alert! Live, is a live compilation album and has opened to high acclaim and rave reviews. See what the critics are saying….. “You got funk in my bluegrass! You got bluegrass in my funk! WhiteWater Ramble is one of the hardest working and technically talented bluegrass bands in the area.” ~ The Fort Collins Coloradoan “Red Alert Live is an impressive exercise in jamming, song writing and musical energy, and much like the WWR live experience, will have you coming back for more.” ~ The Scene Entertainment Magazine To their credit, WhiteWater Ramble has performed at Wakarusa 07/08 (Lawrence, KS), Nedfest 06/08 (Nederland, CO), Desert Rocks 06/07(Moab, UT), Dogstock 07 (Melvern, KS), the Grand Opening of the Budweiser Event Center 04 (Ft.
